Lectionary Commentaries: Year A
These are short reflections written by pastors and theologians to help preachers connect the Bible readings for each Sunday with care for God’s creation. Each commentary looks at that week’s readings from the Revised Common Lectionary through the lens of creation care, so preachers can use these ideas when writing sermons. They’re free for anyone to read and use in sermon preparation.

Year A (current church year — Advent 2025 to November 2026)
Year A is the lectionary cycle the church is using right now, from the First Sunday of Advent 2025 through the Sundays after Pentecost in November 2026. Matthew is the main Gospel reading this year.
