Treaty People Gathering
June 5, 2021 - June 8, 2021
Indigenous women are leading the struggle against the Line 3 pipeline and have been strong in their resistance. They are calling on everyone — from White Earth to Washington, DC — to come to the frontlines in northern Minnesota and rise for the treaties alongside them.
Now is the time that we, as people of faith and conscience, must answer their call. When we show up with the full strength of our movement and combine our masses with those of the Water Protectors, President Biden cannot ignore us. His administration will stop Line 3 just as it stopped Keystone XL.
This Indigenous-led movement needs you. Your presence for all or part of Treaty People Gathering is critical.

Join the delegation of people of faith and spirituality who know the power of community coming together in witness and solidarity.
We hope many of you can prioritize being present for the entire gathering from June 5-8. We also know that may not be possible or accessible for all. Below are preliminary details about activities for the multifaith delegation. We will be using Northern Pines Camp (just north of Park Rapids) as our home base during Treaty People Gathering. Lodging options and costs are included in the sign-up form. Financial support is available!
- Evening of Saturday, June 5: Join us at camp for a time of welcoming and Havdalah prayer; dinner available.
- Sunday, June 6: Breakfast at the camp, and then join the main Treaty People Gathering for a day of training, followed by a multifaith prayer circle in the evening hosted by MNIPL.
- Monday, June 7: Breakfast at the camp followed by a day of action, witness, and solidarity.
- Tuesday, June 8: Breakfast at the camp with a closing circle for the multifaith delegation.
More details will be coming. What the work for justice often requires of us is that we trust our hearts and we trust the organizers. For now, we invite you to sign up and start making a plan for how and when you can be present. Take time off work if you need to, find your sleeping bag if up for camping or consider your lodging/travel needs, and call others to join you. MNIPL is here to support you!
