Analysis | Funding for environmental justice is coming. Will it reach communities most in need?
www.washingtonpost.com
The new money represents the largest amount of environmental justice grant funding ever offered by the EPA.My first reaction to this headline was to laugh, as most of the budgeted money for government social programs goes to bureaucratic salaries, and creating a new office means that’s where giant chunks of the money will go. It was the first time, however, that I’ve seen a mainstream article admit that money rarely gets to the communities for which it’s intended. I guess it’s a start to put out a call for us to get more involved in the actual ground work; that’s how I discovered how corrupt our government is. Good luck. I still don’t believe that much help will be done by the government, but maybe more people will learn whom to trust and not trust.
