Board of Directors
Sister Jessica Zimmerle (she/her) serves as the Director of Community Engagement at St. John United Lutheran Church in Seattle, Washington. Her call is to the CoCreate Project – an innovative, community-oriented approach to property stewardship. Through CoCreate, St. John United is transitioning the church property into a more inclusive, sustainable, and collaborative commons.
Sr. Jessica is ordained as a Minister of Word and Service in the ELCA Lutheran Church and is also a member of the Deaconess Community of the ELCA. She has a background in community organizing, nonprofit management, and faith-based environmental action. She previously worked at Earth Ministry/WA Interfaith Power and Light for ten years in which she supported interfaith communities responding to their call to environmental justice and stewardship. In her spare time Jessica enjoys crafting, playing board games, and spending time in creation!
