In spring of 2024, the ELCA released a study guide to dive deeper into the Climate Care Social Statement called “Our Kairos Moment.” This is a four-session study guide for small groups and is available for Earth Day – or any day – to inspire learning and action. It uses videos, storytelling, bible studies, and interactive activities to help your group explore the effects of climate change on communities in the US and around the world and inspire one another to effective action. Each session – which can be done independently or as part of an educational series – ends with suggested activities participants can take in the days or weeks following their time together.

Lutherans Restoring Creation is going through the guide during live zoom sessions Nov 2024-Feb 2025. These are a great place to look if you’re curious how the study guide plays out! These videos will also serve as a “plug and play” for facilitating your own study guide group.
