Trinity Lutheran shares its building with 301 Ecumenical Faith Partners — and shares its care for creation, too. The congregations hold an ecumenical creation care service together, alongside Trinity’s own Creation Care service each fall. Bike racks and a bike-accessible trail on the property support regular ‘bike or walk to church’ days.
When Sky Ranch, a Lutheran Outdoor Ministries camp, was damaged by forest fires, members of the church went to replant trees and grasses. Closer to home, the ecological committee keeps the conversation going with ‘eco-tips’ in the newsletter, a creation care bulletin board, field trips on environmental topics, and a congregation-wide survey about faith and climate change. The building itself has had an energy audit, reduced its energy use, and invested in renewable energy.
